This unit keeps the heat recovery and extract air streams completely separate. This is vital for a sensitive healthcare environment such as an operating theatre, as there is no way for the extract air to contaminate the supply air. This ensures a cleaner indoor environment for patients.
The supply and extract air are kept distinct by a plate recuperator which captures heat from the extracted air and uses it to warm the supply, preserving heat and energy. This plate can be tested to be 100% leak free, so you can rely on a more hygienic environment.
These AHUs are classified as regenerators due to their rotating carrier. The carrier rotates between the supply and extract air streams to recover the energy from the extract and pass it over to the supply. The RXA does include a purge sector that reduces leakage from the extracted air to the supply but is still best suited to non-critical areas such as administration.
